About Us

This is Miles at 9 weeks old, waiting for a treat. He's a mixture of different breeds. His mom was Yellow Lab and Chow, and his dad was Pit Bull and Boxer. He likes carrots, staring contests with cats, and running back and performing the puppy hop back and forth across the house.
He is the source of this blog...its subjects, its teachings, its make-you-gush photos. He is our first dog as a couple, and we're taking him from a wide eyed puppy to a adventuresome adult who occasionally eats a knitting project.

This is Ryan and Rob. We are Miles' humans. We're pretty normal people. We met in college, we got married, we have jobs, we have hobbies, and we have pets. We are not professional trainers, pet owners or veterinarians...we're just people who love our pets and want to give them the best that we can. This whole thing is a learning process for us, and hopefully we will be able to impart a little cuteness and wisdom along the way.

This is Ella. She is the first pet we adopted as a couple in the Spring of 2003, and she has been scaring people ever since. Ella is a true loner cat...doesn't need or want a lot of attention, expects things to be done for her when she wants it, and spends most of her time curled up from some high vantage point. Her love is earned, not given freely, which means our friends and family have gotten used to seeing her hiss and swing a clawed paw their way.

This is Bernie...the gentle one. Bernie joined the family one year after Ella, and he fills our house with sweetness, love and purring. Stroke his forehead, cheeks or tail and he will love you like you're a fleece blanket in a sun spot. He is a little skittish at first, but eventually comes to love everyone who walks in the house...hopefully that goes for excited puppies as well.
